Help Complete a Community Health Clinic in Rural Uganda
For more than two decades, the Social Impact Institute: Community Solutions to Global Issues (formerly the Project to End Human trafficking) has worked alongside communities to address human rights challenges facing vulnerable populations. In particular the Institute’s mission is to address issues that undermine human development and human security, including gender-based violence, human trafficking, and lack of access to mental health care.
One of the Institute’s most important current initiatives is its collaborative work in northern Uganda where we are building a health clinic in the rural village of Opucet. Once completed, the clinic will provide:
• Primary health services for underserved community members
• Mental health and trauma-informed counseling
• Services for survivors of gender-based violence & trafficking
• Community education and prevention programming
• Partnerships with local schools to promote safety and wellbeing
