WPXI-TV Pittsburgh coverage of Thursday's Southside Street Fest meeting.

Starting June 20, the South Side will begin its “Street Fest.” From 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. East Carson Street will shut down between 12th and 18th streets every Friday and Saturday night this summer.

It’s a strategy to improve safety in the South Side that’s never been done before.

🎉Congratulations to our May Pittsburgh Phillips K-5 Student of the Month: Briyar!🎉

📚First grader Briyar was chosen for her exemplary schoolwork and classroom participation!📚

🏆Chamber board member Cyril Esser organized the event and with Briyar’s teacher, Stephanie, and classmates presented Briyar with a framed certificate of recognition. Matt, Briyar’s proud father, also attended.🏆

Yoga Hive South Side, a new business at 1711 East Carson Street, was the presenting sponsor of Briyar’s $100 gift card.

Pittsburgh Phillips K-5 is a Spanish Emphasis Magnet School and enrolls students from across the City of Pittsburgh!
