Over the weekend, Pittsburgh Police joined the community Peace Walk in Zone 2, organized by REACH.

Community members, local organizations, and law enforcement came together to promote peace and support ongoing efforts to reduce violence.

During the event, REACH honored Zone 2 Commander Timothy Novosel for his outstanding dedication and service to the community.

Special Victims Unit detectives are searching for a missing 86-year-old woman.

Isabella Shealey was last seen in the 7600 block of Hamilton Avenue in Homewood South on June 7, 2026, between 7:00 and 9:00 a.m. She uses a walker or cane, is blind in one eye, and may be in need of medical attention.

Shealey is described as 5’6”, weighing approximately 120 pounds, with grey hair, and wearing glasses.

On Saturday, Special Victims Unit Detective Mike Flynn was asked to speak at the 4th Annual Missing Persons Awareness Day at Schenley Park.

Pittsburgh Police missing persons detectives work closely with multiple agencies, including Allegheny Mountain Rescue Group in an effort to find answers and bring closure to the families of missing people.

Special Victim Unit detectives are searching for a missing 13-year-old boy.

A’Kyher Thompson was last seen at Colfax Elementary on Beechwood Boulevard on May 29, 2026. He is considered endangered due to his age. Thompson is known to frequent East Liberty, Homewood, East Hills, Wilkinsburg, and the Squirrel Hill Business District.

He is described as 5’02”, weighing approximately 80 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Thompson is known to wear a black ski mask, black pants, and black and silver sneakers.

This week, the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police Mounted Patrol had a great time horsin’ around with students from Allegheny South Middle School!

Officers gave students a behind-the-scenes look at the stables, discussed the role the Mounted Unit plays within the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police, and talked about the daily care and training that keeps the horses healthy and ready to serve.
