Marine Corps Officer Selection Team Pittsburgh

Marine Corps Officer Selection Team Pittsburgh There are five directions your training path can take: ground, aviation, reserves, cyber, and law.

OCC (Officer Candidate Course) is a demanding 10 week commissioned program for college seniors or graduates who are seeking to become officers. PLC (Platoon Leadership Class) consists of two six week training sessions for freshman and sophomores or one 10 week training session for juniors. Becoming an officer in the Marine Corps requires that you complete two distinct and exacting tests. The first

is Officer Candidates School (OCS), at the end of which you will be commissioned as a second lieutenant. Next comes The Basic School (TBS), where you'll spend six months developing your leadership skills and choose you occupational specialty. The journey to becoming a Marine Officer is intentionally difficult. It has to be, as it prepares young men and women to lead under any condition. The challenges you will face focus on two profound responsibilities: accomplishing your mission and ensuring the welfare of the Marines you lead. To earn a commission as a Marine Officer, you must excel at both.

Today RS Pittsburgh and OST Pittsburgh honored one of our fallen. John Wilson was our Human Resource Assistant for 13 years and sadly passed away in 2022. We retired his blues in the Headquarters building. We were honored to share the moment with some of his family and friends.
