Headwaters to the Ohio Water Network H2O, Watersheds of South Pittsburgh and Water Now are hosting a Stormwater Management Workshop on June 2nd. 💦 Learn more and register by Friday.

H2O Water Network is co-hosting “Working Together for Cleaner Streams,” a stormwater management workshop on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM at The Whitehall House in Pittsburgh, PA.

Join for a day of networking, and learning with government, nonprofit and stormwater management colleagues. Plus, visit a stormwater management project in the Saw Mill Run Watershed and a real-world look at what effective stormwater work looks like on the ground.

This workshop is designed for anyone working at the intersection of water quality and community – municipal stormwater staff, watershed coordinators, conservation district employees, engineers, planners, and advocates. If cleaner streams are part of your mission, this room is for you.

💦 Thanks to funding from Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, these gardens help catch and clean stormwater before it reaches Montour Run. Together, they can soak up more than 37,000 gallons of runoff!

With help from a DEP Growing Greener Grant, the Allegheny County Conservation District and Findlay Township teamed up to turn two grass areas at the Findlay Township Activity Center into new rain gardens and a bioswale (a long, shallow ditch filled with plants that love water).

These gardens help catch and clean stormwater before it reaches Montour Run. Together, they can soak up more than 37,000 gallons of runoff! They also give visitors and Montour Trail users a close up look at green, clean water solutions.

One big lesson learned: planting at the right time really matters. Waiting for the best planting conditions helps the plants stay healthy and strong.

Thank you to all the partners who made this project happen: Allegheny County Conservation District, Findlay Township, Montour Run Watershed Association, and the Montour Trail Association.

Clean water takes collaboration. 💦 We’re proud to support the Three Rivers Urban Watershed Council as they bring together nonprofits, elected officials, and community leaders to advance solutions for our region’s waterways.

This past Friday, as the Three Rivers Urban Watershed Council, we held a legislative breakfast to establish partnerships with local elected officials and community leaders to work together towards clean water. We focused on discussions around our collective work, issues facing our region, and opportunities for positive change at the local and federal levels. Thank you to all who were able to join us!

The Three Rivers Urban Watershed Council is a newly formed coalition of water-focused non-profits working towards clean water for all.

Empowering the next generation! 🌟 Congratulations to the 77 students who competed at the annual Allegheny County Envirothon. Through months of teamwork, problem-solving, and hands-on learning, these students are building skills that will shape the future of conservation in our region.
