“To those who think they can ship dangerous drugs into the heart of our community, no matter how sophisticated the operation, the FBI and our partners will pursue you across time zones and international borders to protect the American people.”

FBI Pittsburgh, FBI Buffalo, FBI Cleveland, our Homeland Security Task Force partners, and our Erie Area Gang Law Enforcement (EAGLE) Safe Streets Task Force disrupted and dismantled an international drug trafficking organization fueling addiction, violence, and poison across parts of the Great Lakes. Arrests spanned parts of three states in a coordinated operation to find those responsible and take them into custody.

This case is more than just arrests, though. While the investigation continues, the and our partners will stop at nothing to ensure we protect our families, save lives, and rid the community of drugs. The Erie area is safer today because of this effort.

SENTENCED: As a result of an investigation by FBI Pittsburgh and our federal partners, a Jamaican national was sentenced to 54 months in prison after scamming elderly victims out of their hard-earned money.

As part of the scam, Tajay Singh and his conspirators called elderly victims, tricked them into thinking they had won a lottery, and said taxes and fees needed paid. Money was sent and the victims never received their prize money.

Yesterday, FBI Pittsburgh Special Agent in Charge Richard Evanchec and Assistant United States Attorney Kelly Lochler participated in a cyber security panel discussion on ransomware at a conference in Pittsburgh.

Thank you all for spending the last few months with FBI Pittsburgh’s Charleston, West Virginia Resident Agency learning the challenges, success stories, and responsibilities that comes with modern law enforcement work. “In a world that is often complicated and ever-changing, there are somethings that must never be forgotten.”

FBI Pittsburgh Special Agent in Charge Evanchec joined our local, state, and federal partners at the Law Enforcement Officers Memorial of Allegheny County this weekend. As we rapidly approach 25 years since 9/11, a new name was added this year: former FBI Special Agent William Robert Craig. SA Craig passed away following his response to the crash scene of Flight 93 in Shanksville on that day.

His name marks the third from the to be forever etched in stone, joining former SA Martha Dixon and former SA Samuel Hicks. Their sacrifices, and those of the hundreds of other sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, mothers, and fathers on the memorial, are never forgotten.

FBI Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania State Police, the United States Postal Inspection Service, and our local, state, and federal partners executed four federal arrest warrants this morning in the Pittsburgh area utilizing SWAT assets. An additional federal arrest warrant was executed in the State of California in connection with this case. These arrests are in connection with a widespread drug trafficking organization stretching from the West Coast right into parts of Western Pennsylvania. Pittsburgh and our partners stand committed to protecting our community from this deadly poison. FBI Pittsburgh will have no further comment.

FBI Pittsburgh and local, state, and federal law enforcement and community partners continue to track and mitigate any possible threats across multiple command posts. We’re also working to ensure our waterways stay safe and secure through the duration of events.

If you had a great time so far, and felt safe doing so, know it’s because of the shoulder-to-shoulder commitment between law enforcement, private industry, and YOU – the American people. You are why we work so hard in our mission.
