“I wish they understood that it is their duty to use their power of authority to always be protecting the most vulnerable in our community. They literally shape the community. I wish they shaped in it ways that help us all succeed, rather than the personal interests of a few already wealthy property and business owners.”

Last weekend members from all of our 6 chapters, along with our organizing partners, headed to Harrisburg to demand state legislators respond to the affordability crisis by taxing billionaires and big tech corporations. We joined hundreds of other Pennsylvanians to march through the halls of the Capitol and meet with state representatives.

We won’t let Big Tech billionaires cheat our communities out of the funding we deserve!

On Monday, members from our six chapters, along with coalition partners, traveled to Harrisburg to tell our legislators enough is enough! They must tax the rich to help poor and working Pennsylvanians.

Without a tax on Big Tech, Pennsylvania is leaving hundreds of millions on the table this budget season. Times are tough and working people can’t afford it. Three states are already taxing Big Tech’s digital ads and collecting millions to invest back into education, healthcare and food assistance. Pennsylvania could bring in $500 million every year.

We won’t let Big Tech billionaires cheat our communities out of the funding we deserve!

PA United and our chapters are on our way to Harrisburg to demand our state legislators take action against the growing affordability crisis! We've heard from hundreds of people struggling to make ends meet across the state, and it's time our elected officials take the steps needed to relieve the financial strain from working Pennsylvanians.

“I'm 64, and almost homeless I don't know how I'm gonna make it. I only get $500 a month, retirement. I am applying for disability, as I've had two strokes in 2020 and 2023.”
-Westmoreland County Resident

Our disabled neighbors shouldn't be facing homelessness after medical emergencies.

"I work full time at UPMC. I donate plasma 2 nights a week. I'm literally having the life force sucked out of me so that I can buy food."
-Pittsburgh Resident

Rising grocery costs and stagnant wages have made it impossible for people working 40 hours a week to feed themselves and their families. It's time to tell our politicians this is unacceptable.

“As someone who is about to graduate, I feel like it is becoming more harder for students like me to stay focused on school because of financial stress and lack of support. This is important to me because I want to finish school and have a better future, but many students are struggling to keep up.”
-Beaver County Resident

Our students shouldn't have to worry about financial strains while building a better future for themselves.

"In my household, taking installment loans to pay for groceries has become normal… ‘Middle class’ now means too poor to live, but not poor enough for any help.”
-Erie County Resident

Taking loans out to afford basic needs cannot be our new normal.
