Fifteen years ago, we committed to a simple but massive truth: it takes all of us to raise a child, and it takes all of us to sustain a neighborhood. Every milestone we’ve reached since then belongs to the parents who trust us, the teachers and principals who grind every day, the partners and funders who back our vision, and the kids who inspire it all.

This celebration isn't a performance or an organizational report card. It’s a family reunion.
If you have ever tutored a student, funded a dream, cooked a school meal, or cheered on a young person in Homewood, you built this 15-year journey. We want to look you in the eye and say thank you. Come celebrate with us.

Congratulations to our Westinghouse village for improving the 2025 - 2026 school year attendance by 16%!

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Westinghouse Academy becoming the Most Improved School in the district. This milestone isn't just a number—it represents a massive shift in culture, dedication, and community showing up for our scholars every single day.

An achievement this big doesn't just happen. It is the result of relentless teamwork, vision, and a shared commitment to our youth. Huge shoutout to the key leaders and partners who poured their hearts into making this happen:

Dr. Virginia Hill (Westinghouse Principal): For leading with vision, setting the bar high, and championing our students at every turn.

Tiara Coaston (Site Manager): For being the engine on the ground, keeping everyone connected, and ensuring no student fell through the cracks.

Christina Dixon (A+ Schools): For organizing and tracking attendance data tracking our success in Westinghouse Academy.

Westinghouse Academy Social Workers: For working behind the scenes, breaking down barriers, and providing the vital support our families rely on.

Becoming A Man (B.A.M): For providing the mentorship, safe spaces, and emotional guidance our young men need to thrive.

All donations raised by our team go directly to our accounts at the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. These funds are used specifically to provide food for the school pantries at Westinghouse and Arlington, directly impacting our neighbors and students.

In this role, you will serve as a consistent, trusted mentor to local teens—helping them explore career paths, build job readiness skills, and plan for their post-secondary futures. Plus, you'll support exciting real-world learning opportunities like business tours and worksite visits!

Senior Itis can be difficult to shake, but Jayden took accountability for struggling to attend first period and made adjustments to wake up on time for school.

As a village, we cannot force students to show up, but we can encourage them to show up for themselves. That's exactly what Jayden did. Congratulations, you've earned it.
