Last Friday was truly unforgettable - meeting the SgtMaj of the Marine Corps and witnessing my great friend, Jason Thompson, get promoted to Gunnery Sergeant at 8th & I.

8th & I, known as the Marine Barracks Washington, D.C., is a historic post where precision meets tradition. Jason, now a Gunnery Sergeant - a rank denoting seasoned leadership and expertise - he is currently serving at the Drill Master. A billet that is integral in honing the finest Marines through rigorous training and discipline.

For him, the Marine Corps leadership traits and principles aren’t just words, they’re a way of life.

🇺🇸 Today was a day to remember at RSS Allegheny as we proudly promoted one of our own to the distinguished rank of Gunnery Sergeant.! 🎖️

In the Marines, a Gunnery Sergeant is a senior non-commissioned officer holding a leadership position, responsible for mentoring and training the next generation of Marines while also advising officers on matters of discipline and morale. They embody the Marine Corps’ values of honor, courage, and commitment.

A special shoutout to .swol (Sean McRae) for his incredible dedication, driving over 10 hours just to be here for a 5-minute promotion and the pinning of GySgt Perry on his new rank.

Pinning on a rank in the Marines is a powerful tradition symbolizing the passing of responsibility, trust, and leadership from one Marine to another. It’s a true showcase of brotherhood and the unwavering commitment to excellence in the Corps. Semper Fi! 🌟

🇺🇸 Today at RSS Allegheny, we had our monthly pool function! It’s a time for us to come together, have fun, and strengthen our bonds. This month, we shifted focus to family and kicked back at Dave & Buster’s for a different kind of competition. We had a blast and can’t wait for next month’s function!

In the Marines, our brotherhood and sisterhood are unbreakable. We’ve been focusing on physical fitness, leadership, and knowledge, but today reminded us that building strong relationships is just as important. The bond we share is what makes us so strong.

Today, we are shipping off Caleb Glendening, a 2022 graduate from Ambridge High School. Caleb has shown outstanding commitment, fighting his way through a challenging medical and physical process. He’s off to Parris Island to earn his Eagle Globe and Anchor and become one of the few. Eagle 🦅 🌎 ⚓️We wish him the best of luck on this incredible journey! 🇺🇸

📣 🔥 Another incredible day with the RSS Allegheny team! 💪 We held our monthly pool function at the Phase 4 Learning Center in Monaca, PA today. It was an intense and energetic event that brought out the competitive spirit in our Marines, poolees and guests. 🏋️‍♂️🔝

The workout was no joke! We had 6 challenging exercises, each with up to 200 reps. 💯 It pushed everyone to their limits and tested their determination. But you know what they say, “competition fuels greatness!” 🏆

Competition is a fundamental aspect of the Marines because it helps us grow stronger, more resilient, and constantly strive for excellence. It fuels our desire to improve and achieve our best every day. 🇺🇸💪

A huge thank you to Phase 4 Learning for allowing us to use their fantastic facility. 🙏 We greatly appreciate their support and partnership in making this event a success. 🤝

🇺🇸If it ain't raining it ain't training🇺🇸

Had an amazing time at the monthly pool function at Allegheny Marines with for the grand opening of their 2nd store! 💪 We decided to amp up the challenge by running a Combat Fitness Test to raise money for a charity supporting veterans.

For those who aren't familiar, the Combat Fitness Test is a rigorous physical assessment conducted in the Marines. It includes exercises like ammo can lifts, maneuver under fire, and a timed run. It truly pushes individuals to their limits, testing their strength, endurance, and mental resilience. 🏋️‍♀️🔥

Despite the downpour, the weather couldn't dampen the spirits of our Poolees, Marines and the incredible athletes from . We powered through the training session, proving that nothing can stop us from accomplishing our goals! 💦
