⚠️ Storm Preparedness Notice – Pittsburg Fire Department ⚠️
The National Weather Service is forecasting showers and thunderstorms in our area, with the potential for heavy rain, strong wind gusts, and localized power outages. Residents are encouraged to prepare now before the weather arrive.
Please take a few minutes today to:
- Secure or put away any loose outdoor items such as lawn furniture, grills, trash cans, toys, and decorations that could become airborne in strong winds.
- Check that your flashlights have fresh batteries and that you have extra batteries on hand.
- Test your generator to ensure it is operating properly, and make sure you have fuel available if it is safe to do so.
- Charge cell phones and other essential electronic devices before the storm arrives.
If you experience an emergency, please call Colebrook Dispatch at (603) 237-4487 so emergency responders can be notified.
If severe weather or an extended power outage creates an unsafe situation and you need emergency shelter, please contact Colebrook Dispatch at (603) 237-4487. Dispatch can coordinate access to the Pittsburg Fire Station if shelter is needed.
As always, please use caution while traveling during periods of heavy rain or strong winds, and never drive through flooded roadways.
The Pittsburg Fire Department will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates as necessary. Stay safe, look out for your neighbors, and prepare now before the storm arrives.
