The 870th MPCO said fare well to PFC Davis and SGT Clemons, during the last training weekend. They both will be moving on with their professional careers and personal lives. Both have given there best efforts and hard work to the unit, their peers, and a California Army National Guard. Thank you for your service, good luck gentlemen.

New Faces of the Brigade!

PV2 Paulo Leal is a Military Police Officer for the 870th Miltary Police Company. Leal is from Winters, California.

"I wanted to be an MP because I wanted to be a police officer in my community. I heard about the California National Guard when the riots/protest started, I looked into what it was all about and saw a way that I can serve my country while also serving the great citizens of California."

New Faces of the Brigade!

2nd Lt. Tiffany Maninang is a Platoon leader with the 870th Military Police Company. Maninang is originally from Elk Grove, CA and is a 31A, Military Police Officer.

"I wanted to serve California while also working a civilian job. I picked Military Police as my branch because I wanted to safe guard my community from events like wild fires and civil unrest. I'm so happy to be a part of this unit and the California National Guard."

2nd Lt. Padraig Feain serves in the 870th Military Police Company in Concord, CA. Feain says, "I joined the Guard so I could help my community. The Military Police was my top branch choice after I completed ROTC and could not be happier. The Guard gives me the chance to serve part-time and help during natural disasters while still maintaining a civilian job."

Private First Class Justin Truong of the 870th Military Police Company says, "Being a new soldier, I was surprised by all the confidence I gained from my basic training experience. I never expected the Army to give me so many career opportunities, so much self respect, and an improved perseverance. Being a military police officer continues to be my greatest decision."

The California Army National Guard’s Military Police units provide expertise in police, detainment and stability operations in order to enhance security and enable mobility. The Military Police have five main functions:

1. Maneuver and mobility support operations 2. Area security operations 3. Law and order operations 4. Internment and resettlement operations 5. Police intelligence operations

The California Army National Guard’s Military Police units primarily provide peace-time assistance for statewide disaster relief. Disasters can include earthquakes, fires, floods, chemical/ biological/ radiological/ nuclear events and civil disturbances.

Army National Guard units can also be utilized in federal service, for direct combat support in war zones.
