The fish are all stocked up! Lakeside Park is ready for next week's Family Fishing Night!

This free event will be from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, at Lakeside Park. All children must be accompanied by an adult. No registration is required, and a finishing license is not required for this event.

All equipment will be provided with support from the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks (KDWP). The lake is stocked with an additional 500 fish thanks to the Farlington Fish Hatchery and KDWP.

City Commissioners approved:
✔️The consent agenda after discussion of items C, D & F

✔️The bids/award of sale. The City of Pittsburg advertised for bids to be received until 10 a.m. on June 9, 2026, for the purchase of General Obligation Bonds, Series 2026-A. As well as the related ordinance, No. S-1115, and resolution, No. 1302, which can be found in the agenda linked below.

✔️The recommendation of the Economic Development Advisory Committee (EDAC) to allocate funding from the Revolving Loan Fund (RLF) to support the request submitted by Bark-K Ranch & Company, LLC, for reimbursement in the amount of 10% of the redevelopment project costs for the property located at 409 North Grand, with the City’s commitment not to exceed $32,785.

✔️Consider approval of Ordinance No. G-1390, amending Section 1.7 of the Pittsburg City Code to increase the municipal court cost to $100.

✔️The staff recommendation to select GNBank as the City’s banking services provider.

Waste Water Treatment Plant update.
Work continues on the BNR, Headworks, and Influent Pump Station. Excavations for the foundations of the new Clarifiers and Solids Handling Building have commenced. Walls for UV disinfection are being poured, as well as PEMB Er****on for Class A Sludge Building.
