Highland Chemical Engine Company - 28-3 Volunteer Fire Company Overview:
The Highland Chemical Engine Company is an all-volunteer fire department, proudly serving the Borough of Pitman since 1913.

Located in the small town of Pitman, NJ, the main objective is to protect and serve the residents of this 2.2 square mile community as well as its surrounding communities on an as-need basis. Membership:
Highland consists of two types of members, active and social. Our active members perform all the activities and duties of a fire department, obtain all necessary training, and act as firefighters.

Our social members are hard-working individuals who are simply part of this great organization and help in any way possible, performing all duties aside from firefighting. Equipment:
Highland houses two pumpers (Squad 2831 and Engine 2832) which are equipped with enough to handle most emergency situations. Additional Miscellaneous Information:
Highland holds multiple events throughout the year that will be posted and promoted through multiple channels such as this group's wall. Some of these fundraisers, family fun events, community relations include: Giant 50/50, Chicken Barbeque, Carnival, Baggo Tournament etc. As a volunteer fire department, our equipment and firefighting operations would not be possible without the continued support from the community. We Thank all those who have supported us through the years! Additionally, we have a large hall which can be rented out to others for many different events, some of the events that it has hosted are: baby showers, wedding showers, birthday parties, anniversary parties, organization banquets etc. If you are interested in renting our hall, please feel free to contact us via the information above or feel free to stop by on a Tuesday night after 7pm.

On June 6, 1944, thousands of Allied troops crossed the English Channel and stormed the beaches of Normandy in one of the most pivotal moments in world history. Many never made it home. Their courage helped change the course of the war and protect freedom around the world.

As America approaches its 250th birthday, we pause to remember the Americans who fought on D-Day and the lasting impact of their sacrifice.

Across the country, many U.S. Department of the Interior sites preserve the stories, memorials, and museums connected to World War II and the Americans who served. These places help ensure future generations can continue to learn from and remember the sacrifices made during one of the defining chapters in our nation’s history.

Today, we remember the heroes of D-Day and the legacy they left behind.
