The 2026 SkillsUSA National Leadership & Skills Conference is officially underway in sunny Atlanta! ☀️

Best of luck to Christian Stevens and Dominic Burns as they compete in the Mechatronics competition today, and to Adelynn Mayse, who will take the stage later this week in Barbering.

Last night, students attended the opening ceremony, where they heard from two-time consecutive Indy 500 champion Josef Newgarden.

We're proud to have these students representing UVCC on the national stage!

Allie Meyer, a rising senior in our Cosmetology program, continued her learning this summer by attending Premiere Orlando, one of the nation’s largest beauty industry education events for licensed professionals and students. 🤩🤍

During the event, Allie had the opportunity to meet Jessi Draper, owner of JZ Styles, and attend a panel discussion featuring Draper and members of her styling team. Experiences like these allow our students to connect with industry leaders, explore current trends, and gain valuable insight into careers in the beauty industry.

First day of Camp Excel is officially in the books! 🎉We welcomed nearly 80 campers this morning for four jam-packed days of career exploration, hands-on activities, and fun!

Campers were able to choose three of the following programs to visit each day:
