When over seeding this fall make sure your applying the proper amount of grass seed for existing lawns and water. If your not applying the right amount of either your not going to get the results you want. When watering do it 3-4 times a day for 5-10 minutes each time. After it germinates you only need to water once a day then but a little longer though. So make sure you or your company is putting down the correct amount of grass seed. Below are pictures of examples of different types of grass seed and their seed rate.
