The City of Pineville has updated its Abandoned Vehicle Ordinance as part of our continued efforts to improve the appearance, safety, and quality of our neighborhoods.

Here’s what residents need to know:

❌ Junked, wrecked, dismantled, inoperable, abandoned, or unlicensed vehicles may not be kept or stored on residential or other property within the City.

🔧 Vehicles undergoing major disassembly or repair must be kept inside an approved enclosed structure.

📅 Once properly notified, owners generally have 15 days to remove the vehicle or bring it into compliance. Failure to comply may result in citations, penalties, towing, and associated costs.

⚠️ Vehicles creating an immediate health or safety hazard may be subject to immediate removal.

🏚️ Vehicles, trailers, boats, ATVs/UTVs, campers, and other transportation equipment must also be removed from condemned properties as directed by the City.

INOPERABLE VEHICLES CAN’T SIT.

We’re working together for cleaner neighborhoods, safer properties, and a better Pineville. 💚💛

A powerful moment for Pineville's history! Today, Mayor Bishop and the City Council were honored to join the Pineville Downtown Development District for the official historical marker unveiling at Hunter Street Cemeteries.

This project was a true community effort, made possible through a strong partnership with Mark Wood and the Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office, whose hard work helped clean up and restore the cemetery grounds to honor those laid to rest here.

Mayor Bishop was especially proud to welcome retired Mayor Clarence Fields as a special guest, inviting him to pull the cover and officially reveal the new marker to the community.

A very special thank you to local historian Mike Wynne for his dedication and research to make this marker possible!

Thank you to everyone who joined us in preserving and celebrating Pineville's rich heritage! 🏛️✨

We’ve already seen some really great ideas coming in for the 2027 Pineville Mardi Gras Poster, but we want to make sure everyone has a chance to participate!

If you’re an artist, student, or just someone who loves to draw and create, we’d love to see your take on this year’s poster.

This year’s design should be inspired by the City of Pineville’s new logo and incorporate the Mardi Gras colors — purple, green and gold. We’d also love to see Pineville landmarks, downtown scenery, or anything that represents our city.

The winning artist will receive a $250 cash prize, and their artwork will be featured as the official 2027 Pineville Mardi Gras Poster!

Deadline: November 1, 2026

Submissions can be emailed to [email protected] or hand-delivered to Pineville City Hall.

Take a look at last year’s poster below for a little inspiration, and let’s see what Pineville’s artists come up with this year!
