Free legal consultations for veterans are coming to Neosho!

On Monday, June 22, 2026, the Veterans Clinic will be in in Neosho through our outreach program, Tigers for Troops, providing legal consultations for veterans who need help with VA disability compensation claims, military discharge upgrades, or VA healthcare eligibility.

Consultations will take place at the MU Extension Office, located at 18728 Hwy 59, Neosho, Missouri 64850.

Appointments are required to ensure availability. Veterans can register online on our website or by calling the Veterans Clinic at (573) 882-7630.

Veterans seeking assistance are encouraged to register early to reserve a time.

Across the country, veteran honor guards are facing a serious decline in membership. Many of the men and women who have faithfully carried out these final military rites for decades are aging, while fewer new volunteers are stepping forward to take their place.

If nothing changes, the traditions that have honored our nation’s heroes for generations could begin to disappear.

At Operation Honor Guard, we are working to support honor guards, raise awareness, recruit new members, and help ensure every eligible veteran continues to receive the dignified farewell they earned through service to our country.

At Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks, we are always looking for ways to improve your care experience and help ensure your appointments run as smoothly as possible. To better prepare for your Primary Care visits, you may notice an additional appointment scheduled with one of our Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) approximately 30 minutes before your appointment with your Primary Care Provider.

This brief LPN appointment helps our care teams:
• Complete your check-in process
• Review important health information and clinical assessments
• Update medications and vital signs
• Prepare you for a more efficient and focused visit with your provider

By completing these steps ahead of time, we can help maximize the time you spend discussing your health concerns and care goals with your Primary Care team. If you see an LPN appointment scheduled before your Primary Care appointment, please plan to attend both visits. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please cancel both appointments so we can properly coordinate your care.
