A while back, we did an introduction of Chief Anders. Well we didn’t want him to be the only one, so I reckon it’s time to move to number 2!

For over 38 years, Jeff has dedicated his life to serving others. Back when most people knew him as the guy serving hot pizza at the local pizza place, he was already starting his journey as a volunteer firefighter with Ruby-Kolin Fire Department. Safe to say… he traded pizza slices for EMS calls and fire scenes. 🍕➡️🚑🔥

Since then, Jeff has spent 35+ years as a certified Paramedic with Acadian Ambulance, and now continues serving the community as an EMS Director with Alexandria Fire Department. If there’s a definition for “public servant,” Jeff’s picture probably ought to be beside it.

At this point, we’re pretty sure Jeff collects certifications and training hours like some people collect baseball cards.

Thank you, Assistant Chief Pogue, for your leadership, dedication, and commitment to excellence. Your example continues to push this department forward, and we’re proud to have you as part of the RKFD family!

Yesterday was a busy day for our department.

Our members started the day by hosting a NFA class. A few hours in the class, our members were dispatched to a brush fire in the area of Camp Livingston.

While there our members assisted with fire control along with Holiday Village, Deville, Alpine, and Federal Forestry crews.

After a few hours the fire was finally brought under control. A few short hours later, our members were dispatched to a reported structure fire. .

We appreciate our members and our neighboring department. Without our dedicated members, we wouldn’t be able to serve our community!
