🚒 MAY 2026 RUN REPORT 🚒

During the month of May, the Ruby-Kolin Fire Department responded to a total of 30 calls for service, bringing our yearly total to 189 calls. This marks a 35% increase from this time last year, averaging approximately 1.25 calls per day.

• Weather Related — 4
• Structure Fires — 2
• Motor Vehicle Accident — 1
• Power Line Down — 1
• Public Service — 1
• Dispatched & Cancelled — 2

🤝 Mutual Aid Responses:
3 of these calls included mutual aid responses alongside our neighboring departments:
• Deville Fire Department
• Holiday Village Fire Department
• Effie Fire Department

We appreciate the continued support from our community and our surrounding agencies. Our members remain committed to serving and protecting the citizens of Fire District 7 every day. 🔥🇺🇸

Don’t forget to get signed up for the upcoming Fire Instructor 1 certification class hosted by the Ruby-Kolin Fire Department!

This class is open to all fire personnel interested in attending. Spots are filling quickly, so make sure to secure your place!

📚 Required/Recommended Class Materials:
• Jones & Bartlett Fire and Emergency Services Instructor (3rd Edition)
• Notebook or something to take notes with
• Writing utensils
• Computer or tablet with the ability to access a web browser

Condolences to Chief Bordelon’s family. Thoughts and prayers sent for the Family & The City of Marksville Fire Department!

The Marksville Fire Department deeply regrets to announce the passing of Fire Chief Jerry Bordelon. We ask that you all keep the family in your prayers as they navigate this difficult time.

Arrangements are as follows:
Visitation Monday May 25th from 5pm-9pm at Hixon Brothers Funeral Home in Marksville. Tuesday morning, visitation shall resume from 8am-9:45am.

As we receive more detailed information, it will be posted here.
