The Calcasieu Ranger District will close Forest Service Road 205 (commonly mislabeled on Google Maps as FS 200) beginning Tuesday, May 26, 2026, for repaving operations. As a result of this road closure, the Kincaid Recreation Day-Use Area (Swim Beach) and West Boat Launch will be temporarily closed.

Approximately 2.5 miles of roadway, the Kincaid Day-Use parking lot, and the Kincaid West Boat Ramp Parking Lot are scheduled for improvement. Road closure will begin at the intersection of Road 279, also known as Valentine Lake Road, and Forest Service Road 205, and travel through the recreation areas. A specific reopening date has not been set, as completion will depend heavily on local weather conditions.

Visitors are encouraged to use the East Boat Launch to access Kincaid Lake during this closure. Kincaid Trails will remain open during the road closure; however, the Kincaid Loop Trail may only be accessed from the Wild Azalea Trail and Spur.
For more questions, please contact the Calcasieu Ranger District Office at (318)793-9427.
