Bell County High School Air Force JROTC

Yesterday at approximately 3:14 PM, a group of our JROTC cadets successfully completed a 2-meter packet radio contact with the International Space Station!

Our transmitted radio packet included a brief message and the required callsign, and was received and retransmitted by the space station digipeater (callsign RS0ISS) while it was orbiting off the southern coast of western Africa.

Our ROTC staff would like to send a special thank-you to Cadets Heidee Saylor, Lucas Gibson, Emily Perdue, and Jane Brock for their participation and enthusiasm. Their curiosity and teamwork made this achievement possible!

Ready or not…. school starts back next week! We can’t wait to see the building full of Bobcats again but before that happens, we are opening the doors for Open House!

It was a flash from the past on Log Mountain Saturday as players from days gone took the field. Alumni from Bell County and Middlesboro suited up one more time for the chance to battle each other. The Bobcats ended the game with a 36-0 victory over the Jackets.
