On Tuesday May 26th 2026, the Pineville Fire Department officially opened the doors and moved operations into our new firehouse at 311 N. Polk St., marking the beginning of a new chapter in serving our community.
The ceremony began with the crew from Engine 1 lowering the American flag at the old firehouse on Church St. and transferring it to the new firehouse where it was proudly raised once again. Chief Gerin, along with Mayor Amelia Stinson-Wesley, Town Manager Ryan Spitzer, Kim Parton from Stewart Cooper Newell Architects P.A., and Tim Bender and Bill Cuddlebeck from Edifice Construction shared brief remarks before a symbolic “Uncoupling Ceremony,” similar to a ribbon cutting, officially opening the new station. Community members were able to tour the firehouse shortly after the event.
Members and their families, Town of Pineville employees and council members, town residents, along with several surrounding fire and police departments attended the celebration.
This 27,000-square-foot firehouse features 5½ apparatus bays, a training tower, administrative offices, a training room/EOC (Emergency Operations Center), and was designed with future growth and expansion in mind for additional personnel. Designed by Pineville firefighters and with input from membership, guided by Stewart Cooper Newell Architects P.A. and built by Edifice Construction, this firehouse is the result of years of planning and a 15-month construction process.
This building represents the Town of Pineville’s continued commitment to providing the highest level of fire protection, emergency response, and public safety services to the community for generations to come. So thank you.
We would also like to thank the following departments for their support and attendance:
• Pineville Police Department• Indian Land Fire Department• Flint Hill Fire Department• Steele Creek Fire Department• Charlotte Fire Department• Rock Hill Fire Department• Fort Mill Fire Department• Mint Hill Fire Department
The support from our neighboring departments and community partners continues to strengthen the relationships that help keep our communities safe every day.
