🚨 SCHOOL ZONE ENFORCEMENT NOTICE 🚨

Starting tomorrow, the Pineville Police Department will be conducting strict enforcement in our school zones during the following hours:

Morning: 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM
Afternoon: 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM

⚠️ ZERO TOLERANCE ENFORCEMENT

Officers will be paying close attention to:

• Speeding in School Zones WV Code §17C-6-1
Drivers are required to obey the posted school zone speed limit when applicable.

• Use of Electronic Devices While Driving WV Code §17C-14-15
West Virginia law prohibits drivers from unlawfully using handheld electronic devices while operating a motor vehicle.

School zone and distracted driving violations will be strongly enforced. Citations will be issued.

Please slow down, put the phone down, watch for students and school traffic, and obey all posted signs and speed limits.

The Pineville Police Department has recently received multiple complaints regarding trash and litter being left at the town pool, playground, park areas, and other public property.

Let us be clear: These areas are provided for the enjoyment of our community, and they will be treated with respect.

The Town of Pineville is heavily monitored by law enforcement and surveillance systems. Individuals who are observed leaving trash, litter, or otherwise damaging public property may be identified and criminal charges will be pursued when appropriate.

Under West Virginia law, littering is a misdemeanor offense and can result in substantial fines, court appearances, community service, and other penalties. The Pineville Police Department will not hesitate to investigate incidents and seek prosecution when violations occur. (West Virginia Code)

We ask all citizens and visitors to help keep our town clean by properly disposing of trash and encouraging others to do the same. If you bring it with you, take it with you.

We appreciate the vast majority of residents who take pride in our community. Let's work together to keep Pineville clean, safe, and enjoyable for everyone.
