We oftentimes receive complaints of people walking along railroad tracks. While some of the recent complaints have involved students near Pineville High School, this reminder applies to everyone!

Railroad tracks are private property, and walking on them is trespassing and illegal. Railroad companies have the right to pursue criminal charges, and due to the serious safety and liability concerns involved, they will often do so.

More importantly, walking on railroad tracks is extremely dangerous. Trains are massive, powerful, and cannot stop quickly. Being struck by a train can result in catastrophic or fatal injuries.

Whatever your reason for being on the tracks, it's not worth the outcome. Take the extra time to use a safe and legal route.

The Pineville Police Department is looking to fill three officer vacancies, and we want to hear from experienced officers who may be ready for a change.

We will be opening the interview process for non-POST-certified applicants in the near future, but for now, we're putting the word out to those who are already POST certified.

Today, the Pineville Police Department proudly celebrates Assistant Chief Salmon and 42 years of service!

After 42 years, A/C Salmon still leads from the front. He continues to attend training, remains an active Fi****ms Instructor, serves on our Honor Guard, and can still be found on calls if the need arises.

His dedication, experience, and willingness to continue learning and serving are a true example of what leading by example looks like.

Scammers are getting creative, but the warning signs are often right in front of us.

If any of these situations sound familiar, STOP IMMEDIATELY.

๐Ÿšฉ If youโ€™re talking to a celebrity and sending them moneyโ€ฆ THIS IS A SCAM.

๐Ÿšฉ If youโ€™re contacted by a law enforcement agency and threatened with arrest if you donโ€™t send moneyโ€ฆ THIS IS A SCAM.

๐Ÿšฉ If you get a call from a jail saying your cousin Vinny was arrested and needs bond money via Apple gift cardsโ€ฆ THIS IS A SCAM.

๐Ÿšฉ If youโ€™re sending money to your online lover for ANY reason, you likely need to STOP IMMEDIATELY. You may be getting taken advantage of.

And these are just a few examples.

Remember: Scammers create urgency. They play on your emotions. They want your money.

These drinks have been a huge help throughout this past week. These temperatures have been brutal, and little things like this go a long way in helping our officers stay cool and hydrated while theyโ€™re out serving our community.
