Happy Thursday Pinehurst Residents!

A note from City Hall to keep you out of trouble if you are planning on taking advantage of the great weather.

With Summer basically here, the City would like to remind you to call 811 before you any digging or construction, you never know what lines could be under the surface or how deep they are. Also, the City requires building permits if you live inside the city limits. If you're in the County please check with them. Call Carla at City Hall before doing any construction, remodeling, interior remodeling, re-roofing, re-siding or any additions to make sure you have the proper permits. Carports, sheds, carport enclosures and decks may also require a permit. Our Code Enforcement hates tagging places with "stop work" notices.

If you are going to pave your driveway and want to pave all the way to the road, please contact City Hall to set up a meeting with the Street Dept since the gravel area from your property line to the street is the City right of way.

Last note, if you have people going door to door selling things, ask them for their permit. It's required. If they don't have one, contact City Hall. If it's after hours leave a message so we can follow up.
Thank you,
Chief

We are still gutted and devastated by the sudden and tragic loss of Jaeger Hall. Jaeger was a special person with an uncanny ability to compete, motivate, and relate to others in every activity and situation. Jaeger is the embodiment of what it means to be a Wildcat in countless ways. Anyone who spent time with Jaeger remembers how witty, funny, and engaging he was. Nobody competed harder than Jaeger, who among many other accolades, is a 2 time State Champion as a Kellogg Wildcat: '21 Golf, '23 Wrestling.

Our continued prayers go up for the Hall Family, as they continue to grieve, process, and try to move forward each day. Jaeger will live on in our hearts and actions for as long as we are all on this Earth.

Jaeger's memorial service will be held this Saturday June 13 at Andrews Gymnasium at 11AM, a fitting location to pay tribute to such an exceptional young man. Please see the 2nd photo for info on the service.

If you are unable to attend, WildcatsLive will be streaming the service as well. It is our utmost honor to do this for Jaeger and his family, friends, classmates, coaches, and teammates who cannot be there in person.

Rest In Peace Jaeger. You will forever be remembered and revered by Wildcat Nation and beyond. You have fought the good fight and finished the race. - 2 Timothy 4:7

Pinehurst Police Officer Seth Dechand was transporting an arrested male to the jail when he came upon the accident tonight at mile post 54 (Big Creek). He and several citizens that also stopped to help were able to safely remove the female occupant as the vehicle was smoking. The driver was not injured and officer Dechand received a small cut on his hand by glass while removing the female.

We are so pleased that such minor injuries came from such a destructive crash and we give heartfelt thanks to the people that stopped to assist.

Once the scene was secure and turned over to other First Responders, Officer Dechand was able to finish his transport of the male he had arrested on an outstanding warrant.

Great job Seth!

City of Pinehurst Police Department joins statewide seat belt enforcement effort through May

{City of Pinehurst, IDAHO – The Pinehurst Police Department is partnering with the Idaho Transportation Department’s Office of Highway Safety (OHS) and law enforcement agencies across Idaho, urging drivers to buckle up. Now through May 31, Pinehurst Officers are part of a statewide enforcement effort, issuing citations to those not wearing their seat belt and educating Idahoans on the importance of all drivers and passengers buckling up.

This seat belt safety effort coincides with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Click It or Ticket campaign with law enforcement officers nationwide, as well as Memorial Day weekend – the first long weekend of the busy summer travel period.

According to OHS data, 87% of Idahoans are already making the safe choice to wear their seat belt.

Buckling up is the easiest thing you can do to protect yourself in a crash. It increases your chances of surviving by 50%. Make it a habit to buckle up every time.

Help Us Find You Fast, Pinehurst!
In an emergency, every second counts. Our first responders are trained to move quickly, but they can’t help you if they can’t find you.
I am asking all Pinehurst homeowners to take a moment this week to check your house numbers. To ensure the fastest possible response from police, fire, and EMS, please make sure your address is:
Large and Bold: Visible from the street.
Contrasting: Light numbers on a dark background (or vice versa).
Unobscured: Clear of trees, bushes, or porch decorations.
Illuminated: Easy to read at night.
It’s a small step that makes a life-saving difference. Let’s work together to keep our community safe!
— Skip Robinett
Mayor of Pinehurst

It was an honor to attend Deputy Joseph Hodgman-Richter's POST Academy graduation and present his certificate to him today. Was I going to miss it? No way. Is he my son? Without a doubt.
