There is a new location for early voting this year: the Commissioners' Chambers in the Sublette County Courthouse, located at 21 S. Tyler, Pinedale, WY 82941. Early voting is available from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., July 22 through August 17.

The Sublette County Board of County Commissioners enacted Stage 1 Fire Restrictions July 21st, 2026 following the recommendation of County Fire Warden Shad Cooper. “Conditions are dry enough that a small spark can quickly become a wildfire,” Cooper said. “We are asking residents and visitors to follow the restrictions, use extra caution, and help prevent the next wildfire.” The restrictions take effect Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at 12:01 a.m. and will remain in effect until rescinded. The restrictions are necessary because of abnormally dry conditions, abundant cured grasses and other flammable vegetation, and an extreme risk of difficult-to-control wildfires.

The goal is to reduce preventable human-caused fires during this period of elevated fire danger.

County Stage 1 restrictions

🧨Fireworks may not be discharged, and outdoor fires are prohibited in unimproved areas, except for the following
activities permitted by the County resolution:

🏕️ Campfires at residences or campsites, only when contained within a fire ring centered in an area cleared of burnable materials for at least 15 feet in every direction.

🗑️ Trash or refuse fires only between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m., inside a container equipped with a spark arrester and located within a 15-foot cleared radius free of burnable materials.

🥩 Charcoal fires within enclosed grills.

👩‍🏭Acetylene cutting, electric arc welding, or metal grinding within a 15-foot cleared radius free of burnable materials.

🏮 Portable stoves and lanterns using gas, jellied petroleum, or pressurized liquid fuel; fully enclosed sheepherder-type stoves; and open-fire branding activities, when used within a 15-foot cleared radius free
of burnable materials.

💵 Violations may be punishable by a fine of up to $100, imprisonment for up to 30 days, or both.
