The 2026–2027 Youth Advisory Council (YAC) is officially kicking off a new year! 🎉

YAC members came together for an exciting orientation filled with team building, new connections, and a look at what’s ahead. Led by Vice Mayor Ken Fairman and Assistant Village Clerk Nicole Tobias, the orientation gave members the opportunity to learn more about their role as youth leaders and get ready for an exciting year ahead.

From volunteer opportunities and community service to leadership, civic engagement, and making a difference right here in Pinecrest, we’re looking forward to a year filled with new experiences, meaningful connections, community engagement, and plenty of opportunities to turn ideas into action!

🎉 Welcome to the 2026–2027 Pinecrest Youth Advisory Council (YAC)! 🎉 We are excited to welcome this outstanding group of young leaders who were officially appointed by the Village Council during the July 14, 2026 Council Meeting.

Throughout the coming year, the students will have the opportunity to:
🌟 Learn about local government
🤝 Serve their community through volunteer projects
💡 Share ideas and provide input on issues affecting Pinecrest
🎤 Develop leadership, teamwork, and public speaking skills

YAC continues to grow through the dedication, energy, and engagement of its members throughout the year. Your ideas, involvement, and commitment help shape a strong and active program.

A successful evening of learning and community engagement!

On April 28, the Pinecrest Youth Advisory Council hosted a Property Tax & Law presentation at Pinecrest Gardens, where students and residents had the opportunity to learn more about property taxes, legal processes, and civic engagement.

A special thank you to attorneys Paul Sasso and Fernan Rodriguez for sharing your time, knowledge, and expertise with our community. Your support and dedication to educating our community is truly appreciated!

📣 UPDATE: Application Deadline Extended!
The application period for the 2026–2027 Pinecrest Youth Advisory Council opens May 1, 2026, and the deadline has been extended to May 15, 2026.
This extension gives interested students a few extra days to apply and opportunity to be part of a program focused on leadership, community involvement, and civic engagement.
