The Trailhead Park playground will be closed beginning Monday 9/14. The current playground will undergo a massive makeover with new accessible playground equipment and pour in place rubber surfacing. Partial funding for the project is provided by the State of MN DNR's Outdoor Recreation Grant Program. Please keep you and your kids safe if in the area while work is being completed in the coming weeks.

Today is Primary Election Day! Polls are open at the Pine Island Fire Department (315 S Main St) from 7:00AM to 8:00PM. Please use the designated cross walks at the 3rd St and 4th St intersections to reach the fire hall. Parking is available on Main St as well as the city parking lot located at the corner of 3rd St SE and Main St.

A closure of 8th St SW at the intersection of County Rd 3 is tentatively scheduled for 8/7 through 8/11. The residential traffic detour will utilize 3rd Ave SW and 5th St SW. Large truck traffic should use the posted detour along 250th Ave and County 27 Blvd and should avoid County Rd 13 SW. Please see maps of both detours on our website at pineislandmn.gov/2026stproject.
