You may have missed July’s Family, Friend, and Neighbor Monthly Learning Kit, Not a Box — but you don’t have to miss August’s kit!

These free monthly kits are created to help informal caregivers bring simple, playful learning into everyday moments. Each kit includes a children’s book, hands-on activities, and easy ideas caregivers can use to support connection, creativity, early learning, and school readiness — all without needing special materials or planning time.

If you are caring for a child this summer who is not your own and you live in one of the following counties, you may be eligible to receive free monthly learning kits:

Cass, Crow Wing, Morrison, Pine, Kanabec, Isanti, Chisago, and Mille Lacs

Eligible caregivers are informal caregivers — not licensed child care providers — who care for a child for 5 or more hours per week.

Many students in PTCC’s Early Childhood Certificate program who qualify for FAFSA may have very low — or even no — out-of-pocket tuition costs. 🌱

FAFSA stands for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and helps determine eligibility for grants, financial aid, and other college funding opportunities.

For many working in early childhood, college can feel financially out of reach — but financial aid opportunities may make earning your certificate more affordable than expected.

✔ Affordable
✔ Flexible
✔ Local
✔ FAFSA Eligible

If you’ve ever thought about taking the next step in Early Childhood Education, now might be the perfect time to explore your options. 💚

Does your high school student enjoy helping with young children?

PTCC’s Early Childhood courses may be a great fit through PSEO.
PSEO (Postsecondary Enrollment Options) gives eligible high school students the chance to take college classes while still in high school.

For students who are interested in child care, teaching, or working with children and families, this can be a great way to explore that interest, build skills, and get a head start on the future.

At PTCC, students can begin in a supportive environment and explore a practical, career-focused pathway in Early Childhood. Early Childhood is a field where patience, kindness, creativity, and a heart for children matter. Students do not need to be straight-A students to discover they can do well here.
