The Chemung County Sheriff’s Office will take part in the Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) Nationwide prescription Drug “Take Back” Initiative on 𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 𝟐𝟓, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝟏𝟎:𝟎𝟎 𝐚.𝐦. 𝐭𝐨 𝟐:𝟎𝟎 𝐩.𝐦.

Chemung County residents are being encouraged to turn in their expired and unused prescription medications for proper disposal. Residents are asked to keep the medications in their original containers with the label intact; however, they may blacken out their name if they wish. All medications, ointments, and sprays are accepted. We will be accepting sharps at this event. Residents can drop off their medications at the following locations with no questions asked:

A “rite” of spring begins today. My 47th season of plowing this ground and this begins our 107th year of business operations. Although crops and farming methods have changed over those years, I’m still moldboard plowing and we’re working the same amount of land. Soon to be planting pumpkin seeds and sunflowers.
