Hello Jefferson County Residents,

Circulation of petitions for independent candidates begin, May 7, 2026.

The 2026 filings for independent candidates seeking positions and ballot placement for the November General Election will begin 12:00 noon on July 29, 2026, and end 12:00 noon, August 5, 2026. Submission of petitions, completion of paperwork, and handbooks will be provided during this timeframe.

PSA: The deadline to submit absentee ballot applications is February 24, 2026 by mail, fax, or email.

The deadline to receive in-person absentee ballot applications from voters, designated bearer, administrator or agent is February 27, 2026.

We would like to remind everyone that early voting runs from Tuesday, February 17th through Monday, March 2nd, and Election Day is Tuesday, March 3rd. 🗳️

Early Voting Hours:
• Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
• Saturday: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Last day of early voting (Monday, March 2nd): 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Election Day Hours:
• Tuesday, March 3rd: 7:30 AM – 7:30 PM (at your polling site)
