East Park St Rd east of DuQuoin will be closed for a culvert replacement Thursday March 19, 2026 between Brickyard Rd and the Franklin-Perry County line. Work will start around 8:00 am and should be done and reopened by 3:00 pm. Please do not drive around barricades or attempt to drive through the work area.

GREEN'S MARKET RD AND WELLS STREET RD CLOSURE
Green's Market Rd and Wells Street Rd are scheduled to be closed at their intersection for about 6 months tentatively starting on Tuesday, February 17, 2026. Green's Market Rd is also scheduled to be closed between US 51 and the railroad tracks for about 1 month tentatively starting on Tuesday, February 17, 2026. Winter weather may push the closures back. Crews will be replacing the bridge located at the intersection of Green's Market Rd and Wells Street Rd and will be extending the box culvert located between US 51 and the railroad tracks. All local residents will have access to their homes and farms during the closure.

FALCON ROAD BRIDGE REPLACEMENT PROJECT

Due to unexpected material delays, the Falcon Road Bridge Replacement Project will not start until sometime after the winter weather breaks in February or March of 2026.

BRIDGE REPLACEMENT PROJECT

Falcon Road is scheduled to be closed from Grosbeak Rd to Swan Rd starting tentatively on Monday, December 1, 2025. Weather may push the closure back. Crews will be replacing the bridge located in the closure area. The project is expected to last about 1 month. All local residents will have access to their homes and farms during the closure.

Spruce Road is scheduled to be closed starting at State Route 154 and continuing South for 600 foot starting tentatively on Wednesday, October 22, 2025. Weather may push the closure back. Crews will be replacing the bridge located in the closure area. The project is expected to last about 1 month. All local residents will have access to their homes and farms during the closure.

SURVEY CREW on E. JACKSON STREET in DUQUOIN

In the coming weeks, workers will be on E. Jackson Street in DuQuoin surveying for an upcoming project. Please be cautious of them. Thanks for the help.

Perry County Highway Department is now accepting applications for the position of full time Highway Maintainer. The job description and application process information can be found on Perry County’s website at www.perrycountyil.gov by hovering over Departments and then selecting Highway Department. Employment applications will be accepted until the position is filled.

09/08/2025

Willow Rd will be closed starting at 7:30 Am Tuesday, September 9, 2025. Only residents who live on Willow Rd will have access. Do Not attempt to drive past barricades. Citizens who live in the City Lake area shall find alternate routes and avoid the area. Willow Rd should reopen September 10, 2025 in the afternoon hours. If the Barricades are in place the road is closed.

07/31/2025

White Walnut Rd will be closed between Goldeneye Rd and Canary Rd starting on Monday, August 11, 2025. Crews will be replacing the bridge located just south of the Ameren Facility. The project is expected to last about 1 month. Local residents will be provided access to their homes and farms during the closure.
