Hazardous Weather Update 4.14.26

🔥 The combination of dry fuels, very warm temperatures, gusty winds, and reduced humidity will lead to an increased risk of wildfires again today.

🍂 Most dry grasses, dead leaves, and other tree litter could easily ignite and spread fire quickly.

❌ A statewide burn ban issued by the N.C. Forest Service remains in place.

For tips on how you can be prepared for wildfires, visit https://www.readync.gov/wildfire

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:

Many of you may not know there is a compliment/complaint box inside the lobby of the Pilot Mountain Police Department, with the associated form and the Chief of Police is the only person who collects and reviews these.

That being said; I would like to pass along a few "keys to success" when filing a complaint.
1) Please put your real name on the form ("John Doe" is immature and I find it hard to take the complaint seriously).
2) If you don't want to give your address that is fine (Don't put the address for the Police Department...you don't live or work here).
3) Please leave a telephone number or email address where I can reach you in case I have more questions (The number to the Police Department doesn't help me reach you...because you don't live or work here either).
4) Please write legibly (if I cannot read your handwriting I don't know what message you're trying to convey to me).
5) Please give context as to what your complaint is about (If you start in the middle of the story, I cannot address the issue).

The compliment/complaint box isn't the only way to file a complaint. If you would like to speak with me personally, please either call or come by the police department between the hours of 9am-5pm Monday-Friday.

Address

124 West Main Street
Pilot Mountain, NC
