Too many drivers are flying past our officers while they’re stopped on the roadside.
That’s not just 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 — it’s 𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿𝗼𝘂𝘀!

Every time you ignore those flashing lights, you put 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗸!

When you see emergency lights ahead:
➡️ 𝙈𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧 one full lane if you can.
➡️ 𝗦𝗟𝗢𝗪 𝗗𝗢𝗪𝗡 to a safe speed.

Our officers are out there protecting you. The least we can do is protect them.

Heads up, Pikeville! Today at 5:00 PM, our outdoor warning sirens will sound for about 15 seconds as part of the scheduled monthly test.

👉 Remember: these sirens are meant to alert people outdoors to take shelter in case of an actual emergency.
✅ Regular testing ensures the system is working properly and keeps our community prepared.

🇺🇸 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗢𝗹𝗱 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗿𝘆 🇺🇸

On this day in 1777, the 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘀 & 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗽𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗱𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘀 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻’𝘀 𝗳𝗹𝗮𝗴 through the Flag Resolution of 1777, a powerful symbol of unity, sacrifice, and freedom.

In 1916, President Woodrow Wilson made it official by 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟭𝟰𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝘀 𝗙𝗹𝗮𝗴 𝗗𝗮𝘆, a time to reflect on the meaning behind the red, white, and blue.
