Pike County Head Start Head Start helps link families with schools and related community services and resources. Our goal is to build upon the strengths of families.

Head Start is a national program that promotes school readiness by enhancing the social and cognitive development of children through the following provisions:
*Education: school readiness and cognitive development services. For more information please contact

*Health: frequent medical screening, immunizations and dental service. For more information please contact Tammy Grant.
*Nutritional: healthy meals and snacks in a family style setting. For more information please contact Bobbie Robinette.
*Parent Involvement: opportunities for parents to participate in school decision-making. For more information please contact a Family Service Worker.
*Social: Emotional - engaging opportunities for positive interactions and referral services for a range of individual child and family needs and other services to enrolled children and families. For more information please contact Teresa Goodson or Cindy McCoy.
*Disabilities Services are offered to meet the special needs of children with disabilities, regardless of severity. For more information please contact Bettina Coleman. YOU can give your child a HEAD START by enrolling today. To Apply:
*Bring proof of birth
*Bring proof of income
*Bring Social Security Number

Once Accepted & Enrolled Child Must Have:
*Physical which must contain a blood pressure reading.
*Hemoglobin Level
*Lead Level
*Dental/Hearing/Vision Exam

Face Coverings Executive Order

Children age 2 and up in child care, pre-K, K-12 schools

*All individuals – all teachers, staff, students and visitors must cover their nose and mouth with a face covering when indoors in all public and private preschool, Head Start, elementary, middle and high schools (preschool through grade 12, as well as child care centers) in Kentucky regardless of vaccination status.
