A cold front will pass through eastern Kentucky tonight, bringing a reprieve from the heat and humidity of recent days. Until it arrives, though, scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected—a few of which could be strong to severe with damaging wind gusts and torrential downpours. Behind the front, isolated showers and storms will still be possible each afternoon from Sunday through Tuesday, but most locations should remain rain-free.

09/05/2026

Strong to locally damaging wind gusts are the primary threat today. A secondary, lower threat, for hail to around quarter size is also in the forecast.
