Otherwise, mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 63. West wind around 6 mph becoming calm after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

A cold front will sweep across the Commonwealth today, leading to rounds of showers and storms. The strongest storms are anticipated during the afternoon and evening, could produce gusty to locally damaging straight-line winds.

A humid airmass is expected ahead of a cold front today, and any storms that develop will likely produce torrential downpours. Isolated instances of flash flooding cannot be ruled out, especially in areas such as SE KY that may experience multiple rounds of storms.

After tonight's river valley fog develops, our attention turns towards a weakening line of storms approaching from the N/NW tomorrow morning. The cold front responsible for that activity should spark additional showers/storms in tomorrow afternoon. There will be enough instability for storms in SE KY to strengthen, but the lack of wind shear will limit storms' longevity and organization. The strongest cells could still produce locally damaging wind gusts and torrential rainfall, but a widespread severe weather outbreak is not anticipated tomorrow. Quiet weather briefly returns on Saturday, but rain chances spread back across the entire forecast area on Sunday.

A BOIL WATER ADVISORY IS BEING ISSUED TO PROTECT MOUNTAIN WATER DISTRICT CUSTOMERS AGAINST POTENTIAL BACTERIA CONTAMINATION DUE TO A MAIN LINE LEAK REPAIR. WATER USED FOR DRINKING OR COOKING PURPOSES SHOULD BE BOILED AT A ROLLING BOIL FOR AT LEAST THREE MINUTES. THE AFFECTED AREA IS:
