Last night we had Officers attend "Lead to Feed" at the Boys and Girls Club- Pigeon Forge. We had a great time and had some good food. The servers (kids) were very good at serving us and have a future in the food industry. Thank you to everyone that made this happen and we look forward to the next one.

We would like to congratulate Captain Gary Ott on his graduation today from the FBI National Academy, Session 298, in Quantico, Virginia. The 10-week academy is one of the highest honors a police officer can achieve as less than 1% of all police officers from around the world have an opportunity to attend. Captain Ott joins Chief Richard Catlett, Lt. Matt Pendleton, Lt. Adam Malone, Lt. Matthew Shults as well as retired Chief Jack Baldwin, retired Captain Dennis Adams, Lt. Lynn Wilhoite, and Detective Tim Trentham as the other PFPD graduates from the program. Congratulations to Captain Ott and we are happy to have him home!

Last week we had an awesome week with the cadets for the 2nd annual Pigeon Forge Police Department’s Junior Academy. Throughout the week the kids were taught lessons like, fitness and nutrition, firearm safety, defensive tactics, handcuffing, laws and procedures, etc. On Friday, all that came together as we put them to the test for everything they learned. Friday was filled with practical and written tests and it ended with an obstacle course. The Police Department and its staff just wanted to thank everyone involved or who helped. A big thanks to:

Congratulations to Officers Jack Parrott and Skylar Seagle on their graduation from the East Tennessee Regional Law Enforcement Training Academy, Class 140.

Officer Parrott earned the Academic Achievement Award, while Officer Seagle, who also served as Class President, received the prestigious David Purkey Leadership Award.

Both officers will now begin the Pigeon Forge Police Department’s Field Training Program as they continue their journey toward serving our community.

We are proud of their accomplishments and look forward to watching them build long, successful careers with the Pigeon Forge Police Department. Please join us in congratulating them on this outstanding achievement!

Yesterday was our second day of the Pigeon Forge Police Department Junior Academy. We had lots of learning experiences and the kids had a blast. Some topics we covered were:
-Handcuffing
-Defensive tactics
-Safety around fi****ms
-Life on patrol
-Drug/ mental health
-Traffic stops
-Emergency vehicle operations course

We ended the day with Lifestar landing and speaking with the kids, so a huge thank you to them for their guest appearance. Also, a huge thank you to Kroger for donating lunch. Thank you to everyone that has helped out and we are excited for the rest of the week.

2nd Annual Pigeon Forge Police Junior Academy

Today, we kicked off our Junior Police Academy!

Thank you to all of the cadets who arrived eager to learn and participate. We appreciate their commitment to spending time with us and learning more about law enforcement and public service.

We are excited to share what we believe is an engaging and informative curriculum. Our goal is to provide valuable knowledge and discipline while building positive relationships.

We look forward to a great week with this outstanding group of cadets!
