🚒 Incidents like this serve as a reminder of why training, preparation, and strong mutual-aid partnerships are so important.

Fires don't wait for business hours—they happen at 2:00 in the morning, during holidays, and when families are asleep. That's why firefighters across our communities stand ready 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. ⏰🔥

We are grateful for the teamwork displayed by all responding departments and the mutual-aid system that allows neighboring agencies to come together when additional resources and manpower are needed. Continuous training and regional cooperation help ensure that when emergencies happen, we are prepared to answer the call.

Thank you to all of the firefighters, EMTs, and support personnel who responded and worked together to protect lives and property. 🤝🚒

Last evening, we conducted a joint training exercise with the Sidney Fire/Rescue Department focused on relay pumping and drafting operations. To continue our readiness.

Because we share automatic mutual aid in the southern portion of our coverage area, our departments routinely work together on a wide variety of emergency incidents.

🚨 Membership Spotlight: Jared Smith 🚨

🌟 The Pierceton Volunteer Fire Department is proud to shine this week’s spotlight on Jared Smith!

🗓 Growing up in Pierceton, Jared practically lived at the fire station, officially joining in 2016! His father, Chauncey, was a member of the department, and his mom, Aleta, served on the auxiliary. For Jared, serving our community is a whole family tradition.

🔥 Jared’s impressive qualifications include certifications as an EMR, Firefighter I & II, Fire Officer Strategy and Tactics, and Instructor I. When he isn't answering the call to protect our neighbors, Jared works for GreenMark Equipment as a field service technician.

💙 Jared credits his success and dedication to the unwavering support of his wife, Taylor Smith, and their three children. We are incredibly grateful to Jared and his entire family for their continued dedication to making Pierceton and Washington Township such a great place to live! 🚒🔥

🚨 Membership Spotlight: Carla Quintero 🚨

🌟 The Pierceton Volunteer Fire Department is proud to feature Carla Quintero in this week’s spotlight!

🗓 Carla joined PFD in 2023. After serving her country in the US Army, she moved to Kosciusko County in 2015 and immediately made it her forever home. Once rooted in Pierceton, she jumped in with both feet!

🔥 Carla truly hit the ground running; within her first year, she renewed her EMT-B and earned her Firefighter 1 & 2 certifications. She didn’t stop there, also completing Fire Officer Strategy & Tactics. Her commitment goes beyond the station and across the entire county. When she isn’t volunteering with us, she continues to serve with Lutheran EMS, the Kosciusko County Coroner’s Office as a Deputy Coroner (MDI certified), and many other volunteer organizations.

💙 Carla credits her success to the support of her husband, Dustin Baker, and their three children. PFD is incredibly grateful to Carla and her family for their dedication to making Pierceton and Kosciusko a place where people are served by those who truly care for others.

🚨 Membership Spotlight: KYLE ROBERTSON 🚨

🔥 The Pierceton Volunteer Fire Department is proud to shine the spotlight on one of our dedicated team members, Kyle Robertson!

❤️ Since joining PFD in 2024 , Kyle has been an unwavering part of our response team. He has completed his mandatory firefighter/ firegrounds certifications. Kyle is a key member for our department, he rarely ever misses a training, meeting, or a community event.

🛠️ When he’s not answering the call or helping out at community events, Kyle brings his hard work and signature positive attitude to his day job at Steel Dynamics.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👧 For Kyle, service is a family affair! We’ve been so lucky to welcome his amazing wife, Carolyn, and their four beautiful children into our fire department family.
