Meet some of the team who care for Piedmont’s streets, sewers, and public facilities!

The professionals on our Public Works maintenance crew are one of the great behind the scenes treasures of Piedmont. Whether it’s the day-to-day work of keeping public infrastructure clean and well-maintained, rapidly responding to downed trees or mudslides, or working around the clock during storms to prevent flooding and blocked roads, their dedication and pride in their work shines through.

Thank you, Piedmont Public Works! ❤️

It’s that time of year again - the proposed FY2026-27 is now available for review.

After several intense years of extraordinary capital project delivery and housing policy work, the focus this year shifts to follow-through:

- securing a development partner to implement the Moraga Canyon Specific Plan
- moving from launch to sustainable, long-term operations at the new community pool and 9-1-1 dispatch center
- continuity of high public service standards through a workforce transitions as longtime employees reach retirement and new staff come on board

City Council will discuss the proposed budget at two upcoming public hearings: June 1 and June 15.

Way to go, Piedmont! You made it another memorable Bike to Wherever Day, with fantastic turnout from cyclists young and old at our Havens Elementary energizer station.

Huge appreciation to our friends at PUSD for their support and to Havens parent Daniel Sherman for all his work to organize bike month events and promote biking in Piedmont throughout the year.

Heads up, swim fans! Two pieces of important news from the pool:

📢 Summer pass sales for the 2026 season will close this Friday, May 22 and 6pm.

Pool pass sales to date have been substantially higher than projected in the pool's first year operating model, so we're limiting summer passes to help manage capacity during the busy summer season. Annual passes continue to offer the best value and will remain available.

🥳 We're kicking off summer with a Splash Bash on Saturday!

Cannonball contests, rubber duckie prize dive, underwater treasure hunt...it's going to be a blast. Splash Bash is free but registration IS required and space is limited - sign up today at our Aquatics registration portal.

And if cannonballs aren't your thing, we're offering free aquatics class demos in the morning.

On International Firefighters' Day, let's take a moment to recognize and appreciate the hardworking men and women of the Piedmont Fire Department.

Piedmont residents count on our firefighters in some of the most urgent moments of their lives. When you call, they're at the door in minutes, bringing calm, skilled, and compassionate care when it matters most.

That exceptional level of service reflects the professionalism, preparation, and commitment our firefighters bring to the job every day. Their work in the community extends beyond emergency response - from fire prevention and education to wildfire preparedness, CPR and First Aid training, and helping residents and neighborhoods prepare for disasters.

At the heart of it all is the same commitment: to serve this community with professionalism, care, and readiness every day. We are grateful today, and every day.
