And just like that - we’ve got a new infield at Hampton!

Shout out to the great team on this project, who made quick work of the turf replacement at one of Piedmont’s most beloved sports facilities over the past two weeks.

We did a major renovation back in 2016, updating drainage and irrigation systems and installing a new artificial turf infield. 10 years later, the turf was worn down and beginning to tear from heavy use.

We’re delighted to have the space now refreshed and ready to serve another generation of young Piedmonters.

More pathway upgrades in Dracena!

Earlier this summer, we replaced cracked and aging paths in the upper park along Park Way. Last month, we tackled a stretch across the ravine, near the bridge on the Dracena side.

Just another chapter in our ongoing work to make Piedmont’s Parks safer and more accessible for everyone.

Our favorite part of the tot lot project? All the young construction managers keeping an eagle eye on our progress.

Fences are now down, ADA path is open, and new landscaping is in place thanks to our friends at Piedmont Beautification Foundation - but supply chain issues on the manufacturing side have delayed arrival of the new swings.

Don’t worry, little guy! They’re still coming, just gotta wait a bit longer. Current delivery eta is November.

What a difference a day makes! This morning we had a field and by shutdown time… well, scroll to the end.

Work kicked off this week for the Hampton Field turf replacement project. The infield turf on this heavily used field was installed in 2016 and has outlasted its useful life, with tears on the track between bases and turf blades in many spots worn almost bare.

In a couple of weeks our young athletes will have fresh turf to play on!

What’s up with this closed path at Dracena?

We got reports from community members that some of the stones were slipping, so we’ve closed it for safety and are working on repairs - and improvements!

When it re-opens, we will not only have stabilized the rocks for the long term, we’re also re-orienting the path to be less steep. All part of our continuing work to make Piedmont’s parks safer and more accessible for all.
