Now hiring summer help for the 2026 season. Position includes taking admissions for Petrified Forest tour, keeping the gift shop, rock shop, screening room and museum clean, clerking for the rock shop and gift shop sales, keeping the outside area around both shops neat and tidy, among other things. Part time, potentially evolving full time. Hourly wage dependent on experience. DM us for more info or to apply. Come visit the Petrified Forest! Open April through November, you'll see a creation celebration of Petrified Trees, Fossils, Dinosaur bones and more. Start off in our gift shop, then enter a movie screening room to watch an 18 minute movie about the Petrified Forest and The Black Hills. Then tour the museum complete with visual, gemstones, beautiful slice agates, dozens of varieties of Petrified Wood, fossils, and local area history. After exiting the museum, embark on your map-guided tour of the Petrified Forest, walking through the 30 minute self-guided tour of the forest seeing amazing agatized and ringed standing, split, and tipped over trees turned to stone with colors galore. Enjoy the views of the black hills on your outside, fresh air tour, and finish at our large rock shop and working lapidary where new discoveries are made. Open daily 9am-6pm.
