Piedmont Valley Elementary is a thriving elementary school that houses 542 students in the Meade School District. Our wonderful school houses Pre-Kindergarten through 4th grade and has incurred tremendous growth over the past decade. The
Meade School District’s mission statement is, “To Build Knowledge and Skills for success today and tomorrow.”
We try extremely hard to follow this mantra at PVE as we believe this mission statement is the key to future successes. It was, and still is, a beautiful state of the art building that allows us to teach our students in a 21st Century manner. In order to support our student’s we have thirty nine classrooms and eleven office spaces. We also have an Art & Science Room that can house up to forty students and a beautiful multi-purpose room that allows us to have an expansive area for Physical Education classes and lunches for all grade levels. In addition, the old gym, is a charming facility that is placed within a few steps of our school that we use for Physical Education classes. This building was built in the 1950’s through the hard work of the citizens of Piedmont and was constructed free of the tax payer dollar through the efforts of hundreds of volunteers. Our school is a technology based 1-1 school in which every student in grades 3rd -4th has access to an I-Pad. Our second grade students enjoy twelve i-pads in each of their classrooms and our Kindergarten-First grade students all have access to ten i-pads in each classroom. In addition, we have a computer lab with twenty-nine mac-mini computers. Piedmont Valley Elementary is a school that enjoys a strong reputation for academic excellence and is considered to be a safe, comfortable place where kids get to enjoy their educational experience.
