Meet our wonderful board member, Kim Funderburk!

PPSEF is honored to highlight one of the incredible people who help make our mission possible. Kim Funderburk is truly a gem, and we are so grateful to have her serve on our board as an advisory member representing Piedmont Public Schools.

"After 14 years in the SPED program, Kim made the move to spend her days with our tiniest Wildcats as a Pre-K TA. We love the heart and experience she brings to our board!

My husband Bruce and I have been married for 31 years. We are currently navigating our recent status as “empty nesters.” Our son Harrison lives in Colorado, and our daughter Molly is in Austin.

In my spare time, I enjoy organizing, decorating, reading, traveling, and hosting family and friends."

We’re so thankful for Kim and all the ways she continues to support Piedmont students, staff, and our community. We’re lucky to have her as part of PPSEF!

Teacher grants are one of the ways PPSEF gets to make a direct impact in classrooms across our district.

Each year, PPSEF and the Carrie Attalla Fund provide funds for our teachers to bring new ideas, creative resources, and meaningful learning experiences to their students.

From hands-on activities to creative tools that help teachers approach learning in a new way, these grants are about giving our educators the resources to make great ideas happen.

PPS teachers, the 2026 grant application is OPEN! We can’t wait to see your ideas and the opportunities they could create for our students.

Grant dollars are making an impact at Piedmont Intermediate!

6th-grade students at PI recently put grant-funded materials to work while practicing their map skills. Students used large-scale maps to review cardinal directions, scale, and how to read a map using specific criteria. What a creative lesson...through an escape room-style activity, they prepared for an upcoming test.

This is what impact looks like: giving our teachers resources to create engaging, hands-on learning experiences for their students.

Your support of the Piedmont Public Schools Education Foundation helps turn grant dollars into opportunities like this in classrooms across our district.

Volunteer Shoutout: Denise Richardson!

If there’s a way to help, Denise Richardson is ready to roll up her sleeves and jump right in!

Denise has been an incredible addition to PPSEF, lending her time and talents to both our Scholarship and Marketing Committees. We are so grateful to have this wonderful lady in our corner and cheering on Piedmont students and teachers.

Chances are, you’ve seen Denise around town... at church, PAVA or one of the many other community happenings she’s involved in. She brings such a fun spirit wherever she goes, and we’re lucky she chooses to share some of that energy with PPSEF, too.

Thank you, Denise, for showing up, jumping in, and helping us make a difference. We’re so glad you’re part of the PPSEF family!

Whether they’re crafting, baking, designing, creating, or dreaming up something completely their own, we want to give these young entrepreneurs a place to SHINE!

Have a kiddo with a big idea? Jingle Juniors applications are officially OPEN! Apply here: https://www.ppsef.org/jingle-jam-market

Spots are limited, so apply today for a chance to be part of Jingle Jam!

Also, please help us spread the word... you probably know a creative kiddo who needs to see this!
