What an exciting week we have had! Our students participated in so many wonderful events and I’m happy to share that smiles could be seen all around campus.
On Wednesday, we held our Red Ribbon Week assembly, where the main message was to say no to drugs. McGruff the Crime Dog made a special appearance and Sgt. Jason Sanchez from the MUSD Police Department helped lead the way in delivering an important message about the dangers of drug use.
That same day, we also hosted our Trunk or Treat event! Many parents and staff members participated by decorating their cars. One standout was the Jurassic Park themed car, thank you Ms. Mari, our amazing MGE YSA, for your creativity and enthusiasm!
Today, we wrapped up the week with our Character Parade, where students, staff, parents, and siblings paraded with joy and excitement.
But what truly stood out this week was the incredible news about our statewide testing (SBAC) results. These assessments help measure how effective our educational programs are here at MGE and we have much to celebrate!
In Language Arts, our scores increased by 5%, reaching 50%, which surpasses both state and district averages.
In Math, while we saw a slight 3% decrease, our overall score remains at 53%, still above both the state and district levels.
These accomplishments are a direct result of the hard work of our students each and every day. We also extend heartfelt thanks to our dedicated teachers, who continuously challenge and inspire our students and to our supportive parents, whose partnership is vital to our success.
Congratulations once again to our entire MGE community for achieving another milestone. Winning never gets old!
Blessings,
Jose Avila, Principal
