So proud of Emerson for earning this incredibly well-deserved honor. She has changed the lives of countless teens in Phoenixville and beyond through her award winning non-profit Kit's Kloset PXV. I’ve seen Emerson in action providing students with prom wear and accessories, along with back-to-school clothes, and it is truly impressive.

She dedicates so much time and energy to help her fellow students and I can think of few people—of any age—more deserving of this honor!

Congratulations Emerson!

Seventeen-year-old Emerson Cairns, Founder and VP of Kit's Kloset PXV and a Phoenixville resident, has been named a 2026 VISTA NextGen Superstar, reflecting a growing community impact through youth entrepreneurship and service. On Monday, we are hosting a town hall to hear from the community about upcoming projects in our district. These projects have a direct impact on the quality of our facilities and the education and services we can provide for our students.

We NEED to hear from community members at this point in the process if you want to help influence our decision making, not after you get a new tax bill in a year!

Come on out on March 2nd and let us know what you think about potential renovations to the high school, sports and theater facilities, and more! If you can’t make it, the meeting will also be broadcast on Phantom TV.

Your voice truly matters and you can make an impact just by showing up and sharing your thoughts!!

I’m so proud of our Phoenixville students for exercising their First Amendment rights today in speaking out against the horrific actions of ICE by walking out of school. It takes bravery to be willing to stand up, and yes, break a few official school policies, but we are not in normal times. In order for us to successfully fight back and survive the next three years, we need our young people to speak out when they see injustice, as they did today.

When they see the brutal tactics deployed by ICE, right here in our own community, it becomes even more clear that this is not some theoretical or philosophical debate about immigration. No this campaign of fear is destroying the lives of our neighbors, friends, classmates, teammates, and partners for school projects and it has no place in the Phoenixville Area School District

We have a long road ahead to maintain some semblance of democracy and freedom in our country, but seeing more than 500 of our students in action—peacefully speaking out— gives me more hope than I have felt in a long time.

Come on out to the Phoenixville Area School Board meeting this evening if you have any questions or concerns about anything happening in our schools! Of note this evening we will be accepting a $273,919.05 CREDIT from our general contractor for the Hares Hill construction as we continue to wrap up everything from that project. Also one big thing to note that is NOT on the agenda this evening —. after hearing passionate comments from many community members and students, the Board has decided to maintain the Latin program as it currently exists for the next year. Due to this decision, we will not be voting on the addition of a virtual Mandarin program for next year. In the coming months we will be taking a holistic look at our foreign language program and lay out a vision for the future.

This is a perfect opportunity to engage in more of a dialogue with Board members and the administration than at a typical meeting. We will be looking at many of the long term needs of our District facilities, including plans for the high school. Community participation and engagement is crucial as we weigh the potential tax impacts with ensuring our students get the best possible education in safe, modern facilities.
