📢SPW hosted a Remembrance Walk for International Overdose Awareness Day (IOAD) this past Saturday in Yuma in honor of lost loved ones in the community as the opening of our IOAD event. Great community involvement and participation in what is becoming an annual tradition. 💜🎉Our Yuma event for International Overdose Awareness Day this past Saturday was a community-wide celebration of life and advocacy for our lost loved ones.💜

We started out the event with a Walk of Remembrance in the city to the park alongside the river where our event was hosted with speakers among our staff and community, beautiful displays and an altar, including a performance by the Cocopah & Quechan Bird singers. It was an incredible evening of solidarity with the Yuma community with lots of gratitude for our local and statewide staff, partners, volunteers, and family who helped put on this meaningful event. 💜🥰

💜Here's our recent Memorial Altar from the Guadalupe International Overdose Awareness Day (IOAD) event this past Monday. These are pictures of our lost loved ones and the reason we are so passionate about the work that we do every day. Each one of these pictures represents an enormous loss in our community and the altar on IOAD is our way to honor these lives. Thank you to the families and friends who submitted the photos, the staff and community partners who helped frame, create/decorate and setup our beautiful altar of loved ones. 💜💜💜
