Today State Rep Patty Contreras, Rep Stacey Travers and I joined our Ahwatukee neighbors, US Rep Greg Stanton, Mayor Kate Gallego and city officials for a festive, family day to welcome the newest Phoenix Fire Station #74. It was built with many features for firefighters’ safety, and with cost effective designs and materials.

Data Center nightmare: She cannot move because nobody wants land near a data center. And she had no choices. The laws favor big business, and deeply harm residents. … It’s a nightmare in states all over the US. Big, AI data centers need regulations to stop them from polluting water, draining water away from residents, raising electricity rates, making noise that is not bearable over long time frames, etc.

The Dodd-Frank Act is just one part of Barney Frank’s legacy as a true representative of the people. He used his great knowledge of finance and Congress’s ways, and his great care for people’s lives
To develop a law to protect consumers and rein in banks that took bad risks.
He fought for consumer’s rights by working on the endless details to reverse at least some of the rigged systems.
He fought a battle against Wall Street
And he won- for the people of Main Street.
He came out in 1987 and led as an example of standing up to America’s phobias.

A school play is always fun!! Thanks to Sarah James for inviting me to see the play. Her daughter, Amelia was a lovely natural on stage as the teacher, Miss Honey. The song, “When I grow up” was especially sweet with the younger children dancing in pairs each middle schooler with a high schooler.

This Republican budget got 100% Nay votes from Democrats in the AZ Legislature. 🤦‍♀️Even GOP Rep Livingston said the budget bills have various errors. The math is wrong, but the entire Republican caucus passed these budget bills -even while expecting Gov Hobbs to veto them because they are a mess. 😡*** Their budget CUTS working people’s pay and services, and adds even more give-aways to wealthy corporations.

Education, roads, and public safety: The AZ state budget does not have enough revenue to cover the basics. We need big corporations and billionaires to pay at least as much as typical folks do in state taxes. With the Republicans in the majority, our taxes have become more and more unfair to working folks in the middle class. We Democrats presented solutions to tax the zillionaires to pay at least as much as typical Arizonans- and make it more fair for You.
