SUPER EXCITED to announce that EPISODE 3 of is in the works!
With Your911Future, one of my goals is to help newer 9-1-1 professionals better understand the opportunities available to them as they begin thinking about where their career can take them.
Episode 3 will kick off a new four-part series: BUILD YOUR 9-1-1 FUTURE: Industry Training, Credentialing & Certification
We’re starting with one of the most common entry points into formal leadership development in our profession:
EPISODE 3 - Part 1: APCO Registered Public Safety Leader (RPL) - Taking Your First Step into Leadership
If you’re early in your 9-1-1 career and beginning to think about leadership, APCO’s Registered Public-Safety Leader (RPL) Program is a great place to start exploring what that next step can look like.
In Episode 3, we’ll talk about what the RPL program is, who it may be right for, and how it helps participants begin developing the management and supervisory skills needed to lead in today’s Emergency Communications Centers. We’ll look at areas like communication, managing change, developing others, building stronger teams, and becoming more engaged in the broader 9-1-1 profession.
Most importantly, we’ll talk about what you should know if you’re a newer 9-1-1 professional asking yourself: “Is RPL something I should be thinking about as I build my future in this profession?”
Over the four-part series, we’ll also explore the NENA ENP, NENA CMCP, and APCO CPE, what each program is, who it’s designed for, what you can expect, and how each can fit into your professional development journey.
This isn’t about collecting letters after your name. It’s about understanding the opportunities that can help you learn, grow, lead, and build your 9-1-1 future.
