Engine 471 and 473 underwent their annual pump testing tonight. It was also a great opportunity for some of our newer members to get hands-on experience and learn a thing or two along the way. What great weather for some practical learning! 🚒

⚠️ Current Road Closures & Hazards

Many of us are waking up to downed trees, power outages, and a big mess from last night’s storms. County and State highway crews, along with County Police, are aware of multiple downed trees blocking roads in our area. Please avoid these locations and plan alternate routes:

• 3500 block of Sweet Air Road (one lane near our firehouse)
• Merryman’s Mill Road near Summer Hill Drive (impassable)
• Dulaney Valley Road near Stone Hill Road (impassable)
• Blenheim Road near Jarrettsville Pike
• Old York Road near Jackson Ridge Court (impassable)

🛑 Turn Around: Never drive around barricades or cones. Downed power lines may be hidden in debris.

⛈️ Following tonight’s severe storms, significant power outages are being reported across the County. MyBGE is working hard to restore power as quickly as possible and Baltimore County Department of Public Works and Transportation crews are out clearing debris and hazards from the roads. Our units and those from the surrounding area are currently arriving at the scene of a house fire in the 13700 block of Killarney Court.

Crews have confirmed fire throughout multiple floors of the home. No injuries or entrapment are reported.

Expect Merryman's Mill Road between Jarrettsville Pike and Summer Hill Drive to be closed for an extended period of time.

Use caution in the area as water is shuttled from nearby rural sources - this area is not served by hydrants.
