As National Nurses Week draws to a close, we want to express our sincerest gratitude for all of the nurses who take care of the residents in our state Veteran homes across Arizona! Being prepared is always in season. Our Assistant Deputy Director of the Veterans Services Division Bill Glennon participated in the Governor's Office Wildfire TTX training this last week to make sure all Arizona state agencies are ready for wildfire season.

These TTX are important as Arizona's wildfire season is now considered year-round and many agencies, departments and external organizations must collaborate during these incidents to ensure a quick and effective response, limited impacts, and swift recovery.

Last month, we celebrated the 10-year anniversary of our first interment at AVMC-Marana!

AVMC‑Marana broke ground on November 8, 2014, with the first interment taking place a year and a half later on March 14, 2016. Since then, hundreds of Veterans have been laid to rest in our beautiful and peaceful cemetery.

In a small ceremony, we honored the tremendous work our staff and community have done over the past decade to ensure that our Veterans receive their final rest with dignity and respect. We are deeply grateful for the dedication of our cemetery team and look forward to another decade and beyond of serving our Veterans.
