The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) will hold its final Business Recovery Centers (BRCs) in northern Arizona to assist small businesses and private nonprofits impacted by the Dragon Bravo and White Sage Fires.

📍 Final In-Person BRCs (Coconino County):

Twin Arrows Navajo Casino Resort (Flagstaff) – Sept. 8–9

Marble Canyon Trading Post – Sept. 8–9

SBA representatives will be available to answer questions and guide applicants through the disaster loan process. Walk-ins are welcome.

One thing a lot of people may not know about us: our state agency is composed of the Arizona National Guard AND the division of emergency management (and don't forget administrative services, too). This means both our emergency management employees and our guardsmen all operate under the DEMA umbrella. ☂️

Why are we telling you this? Because it's important and because we are moving pages! 📌❗️ Moving forward, all DEMA content (both emergency management and AZ National Guard) will be shared on our new page: Arizona Department of Emergency and Military Affairs. This page we are posting on now will no longer be in use, so follow us over there to continue seeing how we work to serve Arizona. We're so proud to have Scott Kozakiewicz on the DEMA team. Scott had just turned 20 years old when he started as an unpaid volunteer in the Public Inquiry Unit back in 1981. Today, he works as a Reservist in our Recovery Branch. In his 40+ years of service to Arizona, Scott has supported a variety of disasters including 9/11, the Rodeo Chediski Fire and recently, the flooding in Coconino County.

Scott views his role as a way to give back to the community and mentor upcoming professionals in emergency management. If you didn't know, DEMA's reservists work part-time, with flexible schedules. This means Scott was able to work at Glendale Community College, instruct part time at Arizona State University and still give back to the community through DEMA as his schedule allowed.

We're so thankful for Scott-- his commitment, expertise, and community ties have truly served our agency and Arizonans.
