🚨 Here We Go Again… 🚨

Mother Nature has decided we didn’t get enough winter yet and is sending a lovely mix of sleet, snow, freezing rain, and ice our way. Because apparently just one type of precipitation would be too easy.

If you must travel, please use caution on the roadways. Conditions may change quickly and things could get slippery out there.

Our Highway Department is already out doing their thing, working hard to keep the roads safe for everyone — and we appreciate them more than they know on nights like this.

On the bright side, according to the attached post from Narragansett Regional School District, it looks like the kiddos scored an extra two hours of sleep tomorrow morning. Parents… we’ll let you decide if that’s a win or not. 😄

Stay safe everyone, take it slow, and as always we’re here if you need us.

Due to the forecast of inclement weather, all schools in the Narragansett Regional School District will have a two hour delay tomorrow - March 6, 2026. As a result of this delay, the morning preschool program will be canceled, but the afternoon preschool program will remain as scheduled. Also, please be aware that the Extended Day program will not be open in the morning.

Due to the unpredictability of the forecast, I ask that you please stay tuned for any further updates.

❄️ Weather Advisory – Tuesday Evening ❄️

The snow is coming down fast and furiously, with freezing rain and ice expected to finish off this fine Tuesday.

If at all possible, please stay off the roadways this evening. Travel conditions are poor and will likely continue to deteriorate as temperatures drop and precipitation changes over to ice.

Our Highway Department is out there doing the best they can with the conditions at hand. Please give them the space they need to safely clear the roads.

Stay home, stay warm, and stay safe. If you must travel, take it slow and allow extra time.

🚨❄️ UPDATE: Mother Nature has officially chosen violence. ❄️🚨

The Winter Storm Warning has now been upgraded to a BLIZZARD WARNING, which means visibility will be low, snow will be high, and shovels will suddenly go missing across town.

📚 Narragansett Regional School District has announced an extended vacation and will be closed Monday — giving students extra time to perfect their snow-day sleeping skills and parents extra time to wonder why the snacks are already gone.

Please stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary, check on your neighbors, and remember… snowbanks are not approved parking spaces (no matter how confident you feel).

Stay safe, stay warm, and if you need us, we’re here — probably digging out cruisers and refilling the coffee. ☕🚓

🚨 WINTER STORM WARNING 🚨

The Phillipston Police Department is here to tell you that a Winter Storm Warning has been issued, and schools are canceling classes faster than you can say 'snow day' so pay close attention to local news and school media to keep up to date on our district!

❄️Heavy snowfall and strong winds are expected, so you might want to grab your favorite board game and get cozy. ❄️ Travel may become super tough, so unless you're a snow-driving ninja, just stay home and enjoy the snow from your window. ❄️ Visibility may be really bad due to blowing snow, so don't even think about driving unless you have a snow-friendly car. If you don't need to travel, just chill at home and let the Phillipston Highway Department, Phillipston Fire & EMS, and emergency responders do their thing.

👮‍♂️ The Phillipston Police Department will have officers on duty throughout the storm, so if you need help, just give them a holler. 📞 we are here for you!! Phillipston Fire & EMS

✨ As we reflect on 2025 ✨ the Phillipston Police Department 🚓 would like to take a moment to recognize a year of growth, teamwork, and meaningful improvements to better serve our community.

We proudly congratulate Chief Chapman👮🏻‍♂️ on completing one full year as our appointed Chief. His leadership has guided a year marked by progress, collaboration, and positive change.

This year included the selection and outfitting of our new Tahoe cruiser 🚔 strengthening our ability to respond efficiently and safely. We continued to work side-by-side with the Phillipston Fire Department 🚒 and Highway Department 🚜on nearly every call, and the camaraderie between our departments has truly been outstanding.💙❤️🩶 Also a huge shoutout to the Phillipston Highway Department for allowing us to wash our vehicles in their facility!! 🧼 🧽

From handling loose horses 🐎(a new experience for some of us!) to everyday calls for service, our officers adapted, learned, and responded with professionalism and dedication.

We also made important improvements to our facilities:
• Construction began on a new cruiser garage next to the police station
• Additional and more accessible parking spaces were added 🅿️
• The crumbling concrete outside the front entrance was repaired
• A new emergency doorbell system was installed that rings directly to dispatch, allowing dispatchers to unlock the vestibule door and provide a safe, secure space for anyone in need during an emergency 🆘

We were honored to be recognized in the newspaper for commendations, along with other positive coverage throughout the year. We are also grateful for our strong partnership with CO&S Garage, our trusted local tow company that handles the majority of our police-related towing needs.

And of course, we can’t forget Axel, who spent the month of December visiting the department and keeping spirits high with his holiday shenanigans.

2025 was a year of change and upgrades, and none of this would be possible without the continued support of the residents of Phillipston. Your trust and backing allow us to provide the quality services our community deserves.

We look forward to continuing our service, with more upgrades and even more efficient operations ahead.
Thank you for trusting us.

Rest up, Axel… we’ll see you next season! 🎅💫

🚨🧝‍♂️ BREAKING NEWS (Axel Edition): 🚒

Yesterday, Axel allegedly attempted to hi-jack the fire department’s vehicle today. Witnesses say he claimed it was for a “routine sleigh upgrade” and insisted the siren was just a very loud jingle bell.

Firefighters report no damage, except to their pride and Axel has been returned pending further investigation by the Holiday Safety Committee.

Reminder from Axel: Don’t try this at home, and please thank your local firefighters for keeping the community safe… even from mischievous elves. 🎄🔥

Axel has traded his candy cane for a clipboard tonight 🎄📝

He’s gearing up for the Phillipston Select Board Meeting, keeping a watchful eye, taking very important notes, and making sure everyone stays on the nice list. Rumor has it he’s already voted for shorter meetings and extra cookies 🍪😉

Wish Axel luck as he patrols the select board meeting—civic duty never sleeps!
